溪上 일대의 퇴계 관련 주요 건축물들에 대한 위치 고증

The Investigation of Locations of Toegye Related Buildings in Gyesang Area

溪上, 곧 퇴계종택이 위치한 지금의 上溪 마을에는 西家(西舍)와 東家(溪東古宅) 등 퇴계의 살림집, 그리고 寒棲庵(西齋)·溪堂(溪上書堂·東齋)·溪齋(溪南茅齋·退溪南齋·溪南書齋·溪南齋·溪上書齋) 등 퇴계의 精舍와 제자들의 學舍 등 퇴계 관련 주요 건축물들이 있었다. 그 건축물들 중 현재까지 남아 있는 것은 단 한 채도 없다. 2001년 퇴계 탄신 500주년을 전후해서부터 溪上에는 퇴계종택 외에도 여러 건축물들이 새로 들어서고, 퇴계종택 주변에는 공원이 조성되기도 하였다. 그 과정에 溪堂(溪上書堂·東齋)과 溪齋(溪南茅齋·退溪南齋·溪南書齋·溪南齋·溪上書齋)도 복원되었는데, 그것은 원래의 위치가 아닌 곳에 복원되고 말았다. 현재의 우리들보다 더 풍부하고 더 정확한 정보를 가지고 있었을 과거 사람들의 기록을 과도하게 의심해서, 너무 위쪽으로 위치를 비정한 글에 의거해서 복원했기 때문에 그렇게 된 것이다. 그래서 과거 여러 기록들을 토대로 寒棲庵(西齋), 溪堂(溪上書堂·東齋), 溪齋(溪南茅齋·退溪南齋·溪南書齋·溪南齋·溪上書齋) 등 溪上 일대의 퇴계 관련 주요 건축물들에 대한 위치를 새롭게 고증하였다.

In Gyesang, now Sanggye where Toegye's main house is located, there existed Toegye's dwelling houses, such as Seoga(Seosa) and Dongga(Gyedong house), and his cloister and his pupils' study building, such as Hanseoam(Seojae), Gyedang (Gyesangseodang, Dongjae), Gyejae(Gyenammojae, Toegyenamjae, Gyenamseojae, Gyenamjae, Gyesangseojae), and other Toegye related buildings. Of these buildings, none exists today. Around the 500th anniversary of Toegye's birthday in 2001, Toegye's main house and other several buildings were newly established and a park was built around Toegye's main house in Gyesang. At that time, Gyedang (Gyesangseodang, Dongjae) and Gyejae (Gyenammojae, Toegyenamjae, Gyenamseojae, Gyenamjae, Gyesangseojae) were also restored. The buildings were, however, established at the wrong location. The constructors, who doubted the records left by people in the past who probably had more abundant and accurate information than us, restored the buildings based on the wrong record on the locations of the original buildings. Therefore, based on various historical records, this study newly investigated the locations of Toegye related key buildings, such as Hanseoam(Seojae), Gyedang(Gyesangseodang, Dongjae), Gyejae(Gyenammojae, Toegyenamjae, Gyenamseojae, Gyenamjae, Gyesangseojae) in Gyesang.
