An Analysis of Visitors to Boseong Green Tea Farms

Boseong-county where major Korean tea industry is located, thus green tea industry's ripple effect on it's local economy is magnificant. Boseong green tea takes 30% of total tea production in Korea. Recently, however, it is facing crisis due to several causes: unstable global economy, rapid increase of overall green tea production in Korea, and news report on pesticide contamination of tea leaf which caused consumer disbelief. Fortunately, Boseong-county has beautiful scenery which attracts tourists and its number is increasing annually. So in order to stimulate local economy of Boseong-county, we should come up with ideas in association with green tea industry. The present study suggests followings to promote green tourism connected to green tea industry in Boseong county. First, various tourism resources and Corporate Identity should be developed. Second, tourist oriented programs should be developed and marketing strategies should be established. Third, expansion and improvement of accomodations are essential to meet tourist higher standards. Fourth, service mind of rural residents are required. Fifth, green tea theme tour buses should be operated to provide convenience to tourists and accessibility. to scattered green tea farms.
