A Study on the Art Make-Up Using Floral Fence Pattern

This study attempted to investigate the floral fence pattern containing the natural beauty and simplicity of Korean people by understanding the importance of traditional Korean cultures in the 21th century and express it through its application to art makeup design. The following conclusion was drawn through the theoretical investigation and work production for this study: First, the floral fence pattern contains a great value as the design material that can lead to the original plastic world because it expresses diverse patterns. Second, this work attempted to express the floral fence pattern representing traditional Korean cultures with the contemporary image, which presents the possibility of creating a peculiar design culture containing the meaning and value of the tradition. Third, the pattern expressed in the floral fence is made out of earth and stone and so has an unsophisticated yet coarse image. In this work, the art makeup was represented by the pictorial expression by thinking of the face as one canvas. Here the unsophisticated was expressed into the delicate, which could lead to the harmonization of the tradition and the present. Fourth, contemporary elements have principally been used in the pattern used in art makeup. The traditional pattern was used in the art makeup using the floral fence pattern, adding the fresh to art makeup. It is thought that it is a new attempt that the traditional pattern of Korean image is highlighted as the material of art makeup.
