Methods to Overcome Willy's Depression and Suicide.

This thesis studies how light man's consciousness and mind have been on the modern society, and how she/he has been completely organized by the fast changing rules of the modern civilization based on only economic and materialistic profits. Arthur Miller , in his famous expressionistic drama of Death of A Salesman, points out such a serious problem that human beings contrive to comply with their organizations not only to attain to success dream but also to survive themselves in the actual world. In addition, Miller has constantly concentrated on the ironical situations that his major characters have to choose the most dangerous means to reveal their existential status. In fact, his depressed heros even kill themselves to let the spectators know their American success dream trapped and frustrated by their own weaknesses-hypocrisy, fakery, illusion, falsehood, as well as the intentional power of the organization and society. His major characters have shown their serious mind defaults on communication and harmony between individual and society. They easily forget their social responsibilities and roles under depressing and embarrassing obedience principles, which drive the direction-lost modern men to abandon themselves in the business chaos.
