환경미술교육의 방향과 내용 탐색

A Study on the Future Course and Substance of Environmental Art Education

날로 심각해지고 있는 환경문제에 대한 관심이 지구적 규모로 확대되면서 최근 학교교육에 있어서도 다음 세대를 이끌어 나갈 아동 및 청소년들에게 환경문제에 대한 바른 인식과 환경보전의 태도를 형성해 줄 수 있는 구체적 대안들이 모색되고 있다. 이와 같은 사회적․교육적 요구를 배경으로, 특히 미술교육은 자연에 대한 기본적인 감성의 교육과 직결되며 나아가 자연 속에서 인간의 존재방식, 자연환경과 인공적 환경의 조화를 중심으로 한 본질 등과도 연계됨으로써, 그 활동내용 및 실천에 있어서 환경교육의 이념과 상통하는 부분이 적지 않다는 점에서 이에 대한 깊이 있는 고찰이 필요하다 사료된다. 이러한 시점에서 대지미술, 정크 아트, 오브제 등으로 대변되는 현대미술이 환경이라는 화두를 중심으로 모색해 온 일련의 동향들은 미술교육, 혹은 환경미술교육의 장에 있어서 커다란 시사를 던지고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 환경교육 및 환경미술교육의 역할과 방향, 내용에 대해 고찰함으로써 환경미술교육의 구체화 방안을 모색하고자 하였다.

We have many difficult environmental problems for the future of the earth. And in the field of education, environmental education, as alternative education to overcome the limitations of modern education. Art educators have begun to pay more attention to the role of art education for solving current that problems. Art is a good media to evoke environmental consciousness. The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between art and the environment in terms of an ecological viewpoint and to present an ecological perspective to art education. The ecological approach in art education was pursued through the inquiry into life, nature, art, and the inherent purpose of art education. And a direction for art education was presented from the ecological viewpoint. And unlike the past concept of art, contemporary art has expanded in a usage of theme, technique and material. The change reflects the change in overall trends in social and cultural trends. The main characteristics of contemporary art lead to environmental art education, integrative approach in art education.
