China`s entry into the WTO was regarded as both a challenge and opportunity to every part of the world. The agricultural sectors in many neighboring countries such as Korea and Japan are especially concerned about China`s entrance to the WTO. The meaning of the China`s accession to the WTO is more than a market opening. With the WTO membership, China stands firmly of the market-oriented economy and declares readiness to lead the world not only economically but also politically as a superpower that con be matched with the U.S. This paper is to explore the impacts of China`s membership to the WTO on the world agriculture. The possible changes in Chinese agriculture due to WTO compliance, and its impact on the world`s agricultural markets and trade structures is analyzed.
