This article aims at studying acceptance patterns of the traditional public performance in the Jeonbuk area and its present relevance. Discussion is based on the result of field investigations with concrete examples. The acceptance patterns of the Jeonbuk public performances can be classified into two in general. One form receives the own characteristics of the tradition. The other is modified to adjust the period of the regional festivals. The latter may comprise the majority of modern public performances, which is most likely due to loss of the traditional culture of mutual aid (Dure) in the modern society. That is, the public performance is not in the actual living field, but becomes just for the popular purpose. It remains unsolved how we succeed and develop the traditional public performances in the future.
