Dangun is believed to be a patriarch of Korean nation, and there was his residence in capital city, Asadal on sacred valley. The sacred valley has been considered as the matrix of Korean nation and the alter for the legendary three founders of Korea. Asadal became his ultimate capital after numbers of transfers from Bakdu Mountain, Wandal Mountain in Harbin, Goruck Mountain in the city of Gaewon. Historically transferring capitals has not been a matter of uncommon practice. Kogurye moved its capitals from Jolbon Castle, Kuknae Castle, and finally settled in Pyongyong Castle, while Korye stayed at Songdo, Hanyong and Pyongyong in that order. However, Josun settled down in the city of Seoul from beginning to end. Consequently, the capital of Korean nation was originated from Asadal, lying spread out before us.
