Lee Guangsu and Hushi both formed the basic of modern literature, played a important role in the literary world during the early 20th century. It is no exaggeration to say that Korean and Chinese modern literature started from them. So scrutinizing the literature and life of them is a work illuminating the course of the modernity in two country. In this paper, I take notice of the sameness that they composed the modern drama at first in their country to analyze through the comparison of Lee's 《Kyuhan》 and Hu's 《Zhongshendashi》. It is significant that their drama was not only composed in same time , but also through their works can be deduced the modern discussion being confronted with gender discrimination for women, liberty and individuality. But on the other there is a difference, or the different dramatic atmosphere between the two. So it is more meaningful that the comparison of two pieces can be illuminated the modern history of two country.
