音樂地理學의 구상

A Conception of the Science of Music Geography : Attending to Music-Geography Relations

이 연구의 목적은 음악지리학의 논리적 얼개를 만들어 제시하는 데에 있다. 자료는 한강수 타령, 그랜드캐년 등 약 30곡이다. 인문지리학자 및 음악학자들의 선행적 논의를 살펴봄으로써 본연구의 객관성도 좀더 높여보려고 했다. 음악지리학은 음악의 지역성(장소성), 지리와의 관계, 분포 등을 연구하는 학문으로서 문화지리학에 포함된다. 음악지리학의 성립에 불가결한 요소들은 학문상의 독립성, 연구초점, 연구주제들, 그리고 타당한 접근방법들이다. 독립성은 3대 접근방법인 생태적, 해석적, 역사적 접근방법을 통하여 강화될 수 있다. 음악지리학의 초점은 음악-지리 관계이다. 연구주제들은 크게 보아 민족음악, 비민족음악, 자연 、인문지리 및 지역에 관계 깊은 음악, 음악-환경 관계 등이다. 음악지리학은 지리교육에 있어서 지역학습과 지리-음악 관계 학습에 이용될 수 있다. 또한 장소정체성을 고양하여 장소마케팅에도 소용될 수 있다. 인문지리학자들의 사고의 지평 확대에도 도움이 된다.

The aim of this study is to make a logical framework of music geography as a science. The data are about thirty musical items such as Hangangsoo taryoung(traditional song of Han River) and Grand canyon. Several preceding mentions on music of some human geographers and music specialists were inquired to raise the substantiality and objectivity of this study. Music geography is the science of research into the regional characters, relations to geographies, and distributional patterns of musics. The study focus of the science of music geography is music-geography relations. Several themes of the study are as follows: ethnomusics, non-ethnomusics, musics based upon the natures, religions, and regions, and relations of musics to natures and so on. Geographical researches of musics especially can be applied to geography education in several trades of schools.
