Study on the tea-poem of Saint Sarmyeongdang

This study was investigated on Saint Sarmyeongdang's view for tea cult relyed on saint Sarmyeongdang's collected works composed of 7books, the pome and prose in volume 1 of Koochoongseo' rebellion, record, the articles of seokchang tombstone written by Heogyoon, the Yeongdang tombstone located in Milyang of gyeongnam province, Kijeok tombstone of kunbong temple, and the tombstone of Chatonghon gjaechounja etc. Even though under the Confucianism society of Chosun dynasty, Saint Sarrnyeongdang, as a Buddhist whose guardian spirit of the state, won the respect of all classes of society owing to be a good scholar and be in state of Zen of Buddhism. He interchanged with Confucian through the literary art as a Buddhism scholarship, tea-cult and tea-pome. From his tea-pome we can get that the tea-cult is in accord with the Zen of buddhism, and his tea-cult spirit plated major role in having a insight on Zen. Saint Sarmyeongdong was Zen priest who achieved practical Buddhism with guardian spirit of the state and spirit of tea cult. During the period of his trainning for Zen, he comprehended the principle of a practical Buddhism of Saint Suhsan, and that spirit loved of his country and people was based on the major operation in Toyotomihideyoshi invasion(Imjinwoeran) of Japan. From study on the Samyeongdang's life and his works, we can see that he may be regard as a tea-saint as well as a Zen priest who guarded the country from invasion.
