The results of study on the custom of Tea-drinking and Medicated drinking hot water(喫茶喫湯), which a host treated visitor to a cup of tea when visitor came and a host treated visitor to medical hot water when visitor leaved, are as belows : 1.Cjina The Shih Shi(食檄) of Hung Chun-chu(弘君擧), lived in Chin period, written in The Cha Ching(茶經) of Lu Yu (陸羽,728-804) who lived in Tang period is the first historical materials on a medical hot water ceremony(湯禮). Tea ceremony(茶禮) and medical hot water ceremony(湯禮) by The Pai Chang Ching Kuei(百丈淸規) of Rev. Pai Chang Huai Hai(百丈懐海禪師,724-814) from Tang period was taken place and succeed to the next generation. In addition, a custom of the medical hot water ceremony of a government office and civil can be observed and this custom has been succeed until now. 2. Japan Rev.Jyozin(成蕁, 1011-1081) who died in Sung period saw the custom of Tea-drinking and Medicated drinking hot water. The custom of the tea ceremony and medical hot water ceremony as The Shyo So Rin Ryaku Shin Gi(小叢林略淸規) and the gathering(茶會) of the Japanese way of tea(茶道) and Kozen(香煎) is succeeded to the present since. The Pai Chang Ching Kuei(百丈淸規) was published on 1356. There was a custom which drinks hot water first and then tea as same as one of Liao(遼) in Japan. 3. Liao(遼, 910-1125) In Liao(遼), a host treated visitor to a cup of hot water first and after then he treated visitor to a cup of tea. This was the other way of Chinese drinking tea custom. 4. Korea A. The tea ceremony and hot water ceremony of the government office was studied in historical evidence by The Hsuan Hao Feng Shin Kao Li Tu Ching(宣和奉使高麗圖經) of Hsu Chin(徐兢, 1091-1153) who lived in Sung period and Jae Jwa Chung Ki(齊坐廳記) of Suh Ko Jung(徐居正, 1420-1488). B. The tea ceremony and hot water ceremony of the Zen temple was studied in historical evidence by Rev. Pai Chang(百丈淸規), The Pai Chang Ching Kuei(百丈淸規) Rev. Tsung Tze(宗頣禪師) who lived in Sung. The Shan Yuan Ching Kuei(禪苑淸規). C. The hot water ceremony of civil per period was studied in historical evidence by the following historical matericals. (1) The era of Koryo(918-1392) The Chu Chia Pil Yung(居家必用) of Yuan period. The Yin Shan Chen Yao(飮膳正要) of Khosukhi.(忽思慧) (2) The era of Chosun(1392-1910) (a) Hong Suck Mo(洪錫謨), The Dong Guck Se Shi Ki(東國歲時記) (b) Shu Yu Gu(徐有榘, 1761-1845). The Lim Won Ship Yuk Zi(林園十六志) (d) Lee Kyu Kyung(李圭景, 1788-?). The O Ju Yeon Mun Chang Jueon San Go(五洲衍文長箋散稿) (3) The era of the Japanese empire(日帝時代, 1910-1945) (a) Students learned the Kozen(香煎) of the Japanese way of tea in woman's high schools(47) and woman's junior colleges(3). (b) Books on cooking ① Bang Shin Young(方信榮, 1890-1977). The Chosun Yo Ri Je Bup(朝鮮料理製法) ② Lee Suck Man(李奭萬). The Kan Pyon Cho Sun Yo Ri Je Bup(簡便朝鮮料理製法) ③ Son Jung Kyu(孫貞圭, 1896-1950).
