Tea painting in Chosun Dynasty is making the harmony between human beings and nature of idea with the style of painting that the Taoistic philosophy thought of then high official nobility and the Confucian classical scholar thought were reflected well as what the painters from painting circle drew mainly. This tea panting are being distributed in various kinds such as landscape painting, genre painting, and folk painting etc. Then, it becomes the tea painting to be important for the history of tea cultures as the date to be able to steal a glance at then tea culture. In this thesis, this researcher defined the drawing related to tea, that is, the drawing that tea is theme or subsidiary theme as tea painting, though it is not drinking tea or boiling tea, and studied the period thought and tea culture which change by periods by classifying the tea painting tin Chosun Dynasty into 4 periods. The summary of this thesis is as follows: At the introduction in the chapter 1, this researcher defined the term, tea painting and clarified the range of study with the goal of study and the method of study. At the main discourse in the chapter 2, this researcher discussed the period background of tea painting in Chosun Dynasty by classifying in into 4 periods. And, in the chapter 3, so as to examine the composition analysis of tea painting, this researcher examined it centering around artists and works and arranged it with <table 1>. And, this researcher explained the anonymous tea painting and the tea painting in folk paining separa tely. And, while this researcher discussed the composition and feature of tea painting, this researcher arranged them with<table 2>. Lastly, in the chapter 4, this researcher discussed the tea culture which showed in tea painting by periods. At the conclusion in the chapter 5, while this researcher emphasized the spirit world handled in tea painting and the part that tea painting occupies in the tea culture of today, this researcher hopes that this thesis may be of help to continuing the study about tea painting in the future also.
