The purpose of this article is to examine the development and features of tea whisks on the pictures of tea in Korea, China, and Japan. This paper employs two methods to examine literature and the pictures of tea. The result of this study provides that the origin of tea whisks was the straight line type which made with bamboo in Song dynasty and appeared to develop bamboo butt type of Yuan dynasty. In addition, it provides that the types of tea whisks in Yuan dynasty have succeeded to these days past Muromachi dynasty in Japan. Also, the tea whisk of five joint type with bamboo in Joseon dynasty has received attention in aspect of measurement and shape among that of Eastern Asia.
