Translation quality assessment criteria are the basic requirement to qualify translators, to assess translation quality and in the long run, to heighten general level of translation. Although a lot of studies on many translation quality assessment have been realized, not yet appeared generally accepted criteria. It's probably because of the various linguistic characteristics and the difficulty in combining theories and practices. This study aims to get translation quality assessment criteria for English-Korean translation based on theoretical considerations of Stuart Campbell, Robert Larose and Hans Hönig, and the results of the translation tests, organized by these researchers. Translation tests were carried out three times: the first and second one were for analysing translation lecturers' assessment standards and extracting general standards, and the third one was for applying and complementing these criteria. Translation quality assessment criteria suggested here consist of flow, translation error, linguistic error for translation test, logics and expression for summary test. These standards will to be adjusted continuously through future tests.
