A new profile measurement sensor was developed for the remote laser welding robot. A stripe laser and an image sensor are used. The sensor can be used to guide the welding head in the remote welding application, where the working destance of the sensor can be varied up to 450mm. In experiments, the profile and the seam tracking were carried out to using the developed sensor.
