The decisive factors for the performance and the quality on the laser cutting process are represented by the beam quality which is described by BPP or M², and the material properties. The cutting tests for application of the low power fiber laser to the thin-plate cutting have been accomplished with the 300W fiber laser which has the fixed high beam quality(BPP<0.35, M²<1.1) and SPCC sheets of 1.0mm thickness, under the various conditions of assistance gas pressure, cutting speed, aser output power and position of focus. And comparing the test results with references of the other type lasers, the influences of laser beam quality upon the cutting qualities have been scrutinized. The other test results not to be compared with reference are added on this article. And the realistic cutting quality criteria has been selected and be applicable in order that those criteria may become a practical references, by making be close to the production site.
