Recently automotive industry has focused on the application of laser welding technology for automotive body and chassis parts. This research is one of the case studies for application of 6kw DISK laser device to make a complex chassis part. This method shorten the moving path of welding robots and avoid the interference of parts and welding guns, that reduces the production cycle time. Also the smoother shapes of welded surface compared wit those from spot welding make the parts competitive. The improvement of production line and saving the investment by using this technology will strength the competitiveness of the automotive parts company.
