A Study on the Strategies for Export Competitiveness Enhancement of Parts and Materials Industry to Japan, in Korea-Japan FTA

Recently, the importance of parts and materials industry is getting higher, but the competition is getting fiercer. To achieve the international competitiveness of Korean industry and to keep the balance of payments in the black, parts and materials industry must be developed. This study prepared questionnaires based on the literature reviews and interviews, and conducted a survey with Korean parts and materials companies exporting to Japan to find out their actual export strategies. From the result, we can see the differences in strategies between successful and non-successful companies. The purpose of the study is to find effective ways of export strategies for Korean parts and materials industry in order to enter into Japanese market and enlarge the market all over the world.
