Dyeability on Multifiber and Cotton Fabrics Dyed with Yellow Natural Colorants

This study was performed to evaluate dyeability according the treatment method of mordants for yellowish natural dye fabrics. Gardenia, turmeric, and pagoda tree were used as natural materials. There were differences in the dyeability for multifiber fabrics and cotton fabrics according to the fiber and the natural colorants. The fabrics dyed with gardenia were turned into dark yellow and the fabrics dyed with pagoda tree were changed into light yellow. Those yellowish natural colorants were well applied to fibers like cotton, nylon, silk, rayon, and wool. Also, there were color differences in natural dyed multifiber fabrics and cotton fabrics according to the treatment method of mordants. The color of natural dyed cotton fabrics which were pre-treated with mordants was similar to the color of fabrics untreated with mordants. But the color of natural dyed fabrics post-treated with mordant were quite different from the color of fabrics untreated with mordants.
