본태성 안검경련환자와 반측안면경련환자의 임상양상을 알기위해 본원을 방문한 이들 환자들을 대상으로 임상적 분석을 한 결과 다음과 같았다. 발병연령을 보면 본태성 안검경련환자에서 51.3세였고 반측안면경련환자에서는 42.7세였으며, 성비를 보면 본태성 안검경련환자에게 여자가 71.6%였고 반측안면경련환자에서는 72.7%였다. 증상으로는 양측성 또는 편측성 안검경련이외 트릭, 안검 및 눈썹의 하수 등을 보였고 이물감, 수명, 유루 등을 호소하였으며, 증상을 약화시키는 요인으로는 정신적 스트레스와 피로가 가장 많았다. BUT 검사상 10초 미만이었던 경우가 두 질환 각각에서 대조군과 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나(p＞0.05), Schirmer test에서는 10㎜미만인 경우가 두 질환에서 각각 대조군에 비해 많았다(p＜0.05). 또한 본태성 안검경련환자에서 Botulinum Toxin주사 전후의 BUT와 Schirmer test검사치에서 유의한 변화를 보이지 않았다(p＞0.05).
This clinical investigation was undertaken to evluate the patients who had characteristic featutes of essential blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm during the period from July, 1987 to August, 1990 in this ophthalmological department of Chung Ang University Hospital. The results were as follows; 1) The age onset of essential blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm patients were 51.3 years and 42.7 years, respectively. 2) These patients showed lid spasm, tricks, and lid or brow ptosis as common signs and complained of foreign body sensation, photophobia, and epiphora as main symptons, which were worsened by emotional stress or fatigue. 3) The BUT(tear film break-up time)under 10 seconds were 74.1% in essential blepharospasm, 69.2% inn hemifacial spasm, and 55.0% in control but there was no significant difference between these patients and control(p＞0.05). The Schirmer test value under 10㎜ was 69.7, 66.3% and 35.0%, respectively and there was significant difference between them(p＜0.05). 4) The value of BUT and Schirmer test not influenced after Botulinum toxin injection statistically(p＞0.05).
