평생교육 참여에 영향을 주는 환경 요소에 대한 탐색적 연구

Exploration into the Environmental Elements Effecting on Participation in Lifelong Education

본 연구는 평생교육 참여에 영향을 주는 요소, 그 중에서도 특히 환경적 요소와 그 효과를 탐색할 목적으로 이루어졌다. 이를 위해서 2008년에 평생교육진흥원이 수행한 「평생학습도시 주민만족도 조사」과정에서 수집된 전국 76개 평생학습도시의 20세 이상 주민 10,060명과 10개 일반 시군구의 20세 이상 주민 600명의 자료 중 일부를 재분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 평생교육 참여에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상한 총 37개 변인 중 17개를 제외한 20개의 변인만이 통계적으로 유의한 설명력을 지니고 있었다. 둘째, 이들 변인이 지닌 평생교육 참여 여부에 대한 설명량은 58.7%였고, 평생교육 환경과 관련한 변인들의 설명량은 6.8%로 나타났다. 셋째, 전체 자료를 평생학습도시와 일반 시군구 자료로 분할하여 별도로 분석한 결과, 평생교육 참여에 영향을 주는 변인은 평생학습도시와 일반 시군구 사이에 대립적인 패턴을 보였다. 이상의 분석결과는 평생교육 참여를 설명하는 변인의 개발이 여전히 많이 이루어질 필요가 있음을 보여준다. 그중에서도 특히 평생교육 환경과 관련한 변인의 개발에 대한 우선적 고려가 필요하다.

This study purposes to explore the elements effecting on participation in lifelong education and is especially interested in environmental elements. For the purpose, this study uses the results of analysis from some of the data which is developed for survey on residents' satisfaction in lifelong learning cities. The data includes the responses from 10,660 people, who are over twenty years old from 86 local governments on a level of borough(76 lifelong learning cities and 10 general local governments). The analysis is completed through binary logistic regression in SPSS ver 13. The study results are 1) Among 37 independent variables, Just 20 variables can explain the participation with statistical meaning. 2) These variables can explain total 58.7% of the variance on the participation. 3) Environmental variables are able to explain just 6.8% of the variance on the participation. 4) Between lifelong learning city and general local government, opposite patterns are observed in the way of explaining the participation. The study results suggest to refine critical variables explaining participation in lifelong education. Especially, variables in a relation to lifelong education environment should be developed as soon as possible. Otherwise the efforts providing lifelong education could not be recognized properly.
