Single-dose dermal toxicity test on Rosin？？ from an extract of Pine tree

There has been a great deal of interest in the applications of plant-based extracts to both cosmetic and medicinal industries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the single-dose dermal toxicity test on Rosin？？ from an extract of Pine tree which is well-known as a very powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibiotic material according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration. Total of 80 rats(40 female rats and 40 male rats) were divided into 4 groups: control(vehicle(80% ethanol)), Rosin？？ 1%(in 80% ethanol), Rosin？？ 5% and Rosin？？ 10 %, which was used for the test of dose toxicity. There were no clinical signs and pathological changes compared with control group. Body weights were not significantly changed between control and Rosin？？ treatment groups. The result of this study indicated that Rosin？？ was able to be used for Atopy Dermatitis to 10% and it is a safe material to skin without skin irritation or allergic sensitization.
