百濟 熊津期 扶餘 龍井里 下層 寺院의 性格

The character of the low level temple in Yongjeongri, Buyeo of the Woongjin Era, Baekje.

백제 웅진시대에 사비도성의 축조를 비롯한 사비경영은 요즘 고고학적 연구를 통해 하나하나 밝혀지고 있다. 부여의 용정리 폐사지(龍井里廢寺址)는 바로 이러한 사비천도와 관련하여 웅진시대 부여지역에 세워진 사찰이다. 寺址는 완벽한 발굴조사가 이루어지지 않아 정확한 가람배치는 알 수 없지만 목탑과 금당이 갖추어진 1탑 1금당식으로 조사되었다. 용정리 폐사지는 상∙하층 중복되어 조영되었다. 이 중 하층 사원은 여기에서 출토된 판단 첨형 연화문와당으로 말미암아 웅진시대인 5세기 말~6세기 초반 경에 조영되었음을 알 수 있다. 특히 와당에 표현된 연화문은 북조의 석굴사원과 고구려 벽화고분(연화총, 수산리고분, 안악 제2호분, 쌍영총 등), 그리고 무령왕릉 출토 왕비의 두침 및 청동탁은잔의 연화문과 친연성이 찾아져 판단 첨형 와당 문화의 계통을 알게 한다. 아울러 용정리 하층 사원은 사비지역의 순수에 따른 왕이나 귀족계층의 임시 거처, 사비천도의 정당성 홍보, 그리고 신도시 개발과 관련되어 발생되는 민들의 불만 등을 효과적으로 처리하기 위해 사비지역에 조영되었던 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 사원의 조성 목적 또한 순수한 신앙행위의 결정체 측면보다는 정치적인 의도가 적지 않게 포함되었던 것으로 이해할 수 있다. 그러나 이 寺址가 泗沘地域 최초의 熊津期 사원이고, 북조문화의 단면을 간직하고 있음에도 불구하고 아직까지 전면적인 발굴조사가 이루어지지 않은 점을 차후 해결해야 할 과제라 생각된다.

One by one, the constructions and the management of Sabi of the capital city Sabidoseong from the Woongjin Era of Baekje have been uncovered. The Yongjeongri temple site is a temple built in the Buyeo Region in relation to such a transfer of capital to arrangement of the Buddhist temple cannot be known. However, the 1 pagoda-1 main temple form which possesses a wooden stupa and a main temple has been found out through investigations. The Yongjeongri temple site has been built by overlapping the upper stories and the lower stories. From the end pieces of the tiles excavated from here, it can be known that the overlapping lower floor temple has been built between the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the 6th century of the Woongjin Era. Especially, the relations of the lotus flower design patterns expressed on the end pieces of the tiles to the stone cave temples of Bookjo, the mural painted old tombs (Yeonhwachong, Susanrigobun (Old Tomb), Anak No.2 Boon, Ssangyeongchong, etc.) of Koguryo, and the lotus flower design patterns on the pillows and the cups of the queens unearthed from the Muryeong Wangreung Royal Mausolea have been found. Thereby, this lets us know the systems of culture of the end pieces of the ile. In addition, it is thought that the low level Buddhist temple in Youngeongri has been built in the Sabi region in order to effectively deal with the policies for the people, in cluding the publicization of the transfer of the capital to Sabi, the dealing with the dissatisfactions of the people generated in relation to the development of a new city, etc. As a result, it can be understood that, instead of it being a crystallization of pure religious actions, the formation of the temple had included in its purpose a not-small amount of political intentions. It is hoped that perfect unearthing investigations that place so that they can perform pivotal funcions in the recovery of the Badkje culture.
