고흥 길두리고분 출토 金銅冠과 백제의 王·候制

The Gilt Bronze Crown Excavated from Gildoori Tomb, Goheung and Backje's King and Feudal Lord System

고흥반도 남단에 위치한 포두면 길두리고분에서 백제 중앙정부가 지방의 토착세력에게 하사한 金銅冠이 조사되었다. 길두리고분 출토 금동관은 5세기 후반에 제작되었으며, 백제의 王·侯制 시행을 보여주는 물증에 해당된다. 길두리고분에서 출토된 금동관은 중앙정부가 지방관을 파견하여 직접지배를 실시하기가 어려운 상황이었음을 보여주며, 方郡成制로 가는 길목에서 시행된 과도기적인 지방통치 방식을 증명한다. 백제가 왕·후제를 시행한 것은 개로왕대에 이루어졌지만, 그 범위는 안성천 이남과 노령 이북의 옛 마한 중심지역에 국한되었다. 백제가 전남지역을 대상으로 왕·후제를 실시한 것은 동성왕 후반기에 이루어졌다. 백제는 전남의 서남부지역을 먼저 장악하고 동부지역으로 진출하면서 그 길목에 해당되는 고흥 길두리의 해상세력을 왕·후로 임명하고 금동관을 하사하여 권위를 부여하였다. 백제가 고흥지역으로 진출하여 대가야 및 왜국과 접촉할 수 있는 천혜의 장소가 길두리 일대였다. 백제는 길두리 해상세력을 이용하여 가야와 신라 및 왜국과 교섭하는 대외창구로 활용하였다. 길두리고분에서 출토된 백제계와 왜계 유물은 다양한 대외교섭과 활발한 해상활동을 반영한다. 길두리 해상세력은 백제가 무녕왕대에 이르러 섬진강 하류지역과 남해안지역을 장악한 후 帶沙津을 대외교섭 창구로 활용하면서 쇠퇴하였다.

This study investigated a gilt bronze crown given to the natives by the federal government of Baekje which was excavated in the Gildoori ancient tomb of Podumyeon located in the southern end of Goheung peninsular. The crown was made in late 5th century and an evidence to show implementation of Baekje's King and Feudal Lord System(王·侯制). The crown shows that it was difficult to directly govern local areas by delegating officers and it was a transitional governing system before the Banggunseongje system(方郡成制) was introduced. The King and Feudal Lord System was implemented under the reign of the king Gaero, but the range was confined to the center of old Mahan, the southern Anseong and the Northern Noryeong mountains. Baekje appointed marine forces of Gildoori as kings and feudal lords when it advanced toward east after controlling the southwest of Jeonnam and gave the gilt bronze crown to provide authority. The best place Baekje could advance to Goheung and contact Daegaya and Japan was about Gildoori. Baekje used Gildoori marine forces as a gate to contact Gaya, Silla and Japan. Baekje's and Japanese relics excavated from Gildoori tombs reflected various foreign trades and active marine activities. Gildoori marine forces declined when Baekje controlled Seomjin River and the south coast and used Daesajin as a gate to foreign trade.
