The advantage of using Maxwell stress tensor is that force equation can be written as function of the magnetic field quantities. This paper presents the application method of Maxwell stress tensor on the analysis of the force density distribution of an electric machine. Authors consider that the presented method in this paper is very useful on the analysis of the characteristics of electromagnetic energy conversion devices.
