폴란드에서의 한국(문)학 연구 및 교육 현황

이미 100여 년 전에 양국 국민들이 상대국을 방문한 사실과 또 상대국에 관해 쓴 기록들을 통해 유사한 역사적 경험 하에 양국의 관계가 ‘멀고도 가까운 나라’였음을 알 수 있다. 이미 50여 년 전부터 바르샤바 대학교에서 한국어 강의가 시작된 것도 그러한 전통의 연장선상에 있다. 바르샤바대를 중심으로 한 폴란드에서의 한국학 및 한국문학 교육의 역사와 내용은 그 폭과 깊이 면에서 동유럽 국가 중에서도 선두격에 해당한다. 자발적으로 한국학 연구가 이루어졌고 언어와 문학을 위주로 한 한국학이 신구가 조화를 이룬 교수진을 중심으로 다양한 학문적 성과를 만들어오고 있다. 그러나 특별히 외국인을 대상으로 한 한국문학교육의 현실은 단순하지 않다. 경제적, 정치적 목적에서 한국학을 배우려는 학생들에게 한국어 수업 외에 한국문학 강의 역시 의미 있고 흥미 있는 것으로 다가갈 필요가 있으며, 이를 위해 교수와 학생, 관계 기관의 공감대와 지원이 선행되어야 할 것이다. 그 나라 언어에 능통한 한국문학 전공자들이 현지에 맞는 교수방법을 개발하고 장기적인 안목에서 문학교육의 방향을 세워나가는 작업이 절실히 요청되는 상황이다.

Both the Korean and the Poles were fully aware of own`s country`s politic situation with a country for a counterpart, and expressed sympathy with similar fate each other. And a few of both people`s had already visited privately at the other country about 100 years ago. Two countries were distant geographically, but very close mentally and emotionally. It`s one of the reasons which korean studies in Poland have a history of fifty one years. In the early days of Korean studies in Poland, it was taught by several professors who were sent from DPRK(North Korea) from 1953 to 1991. Doctor Halina Ogarek-Czoj, who was pioneering leader of establishment and development of the department of Korean studies in Warsaw university, was also one of students who had stu양 Korean language by North Korean. She wrote a lot of monographs, translated several Korean works into Polish, and published several scientific works. Her disciples are nowadays teaching students and studying Korean science in the department of Korean studies after she retired from her post. It means that Korean studies in Poland started voluntarily and has developed impassionedly until now. By the way, especially, education of Korean literature for foreigners, is not easy practically in a lecture room, because foreign students have a tendency to be aimed at learning not korean literature, but Korean language which it is available in their place of work. To solve these problems, we need to widen the belt of consensus about importance of education of korean literature in abroad. Korean literature-specialist who can teach in foreign language, foreign students who are interested in studying of korean literature, and positive support of the organizations concerned-these tripartite harmony and cooperations are now requested, in order to take root of the education of korean literature in abroad as well as in Poland.
