이야기 구조를 활용한 줄거리 요약하기 지도 방안 연구

The purpose of this paper is to cultivate the abilities of the students on summarizing the plot, and to discover the strategies to effectively adapt the summarizing ability in actual education. In order to achieve it, the practitioners applied the story structure as a study strategy to find out if the students show meaningful results in plot summarizing. We specified the topics by the following purposes. First, we sought the concept of what a story means and the precedent studies of story structures, and extracted the structure factors that we could apply to the plot summarizing activity. The factors of the story structure is composed of the six components which are 'background', 'origin', 'inner reactions', 'trials', 'results', and 'response(resolution)' by referring to Stein & Glenn's researches. Also, we sought the concepts of summarizing and plots concerning literature texts. Moreover, we explained the plot structure education as a reading study, and showed the study strategy of the basic concepts of the story structure to the students who hadn't formed the frame of it. There are many ways to figure out the story structures, but we focused the 'questioning-answering strategy', 'self-questioning strategy', and 'story structure framing strategy'. In chapter III, we worked on the three-strategy map model to summarize and apply to the story plot. Summarizing the plot is generally actualized after reading, so we introduced how to apply the story structure into three steps which are former, middle, and latter parts. In order to verify the effects we analyzed third graders by letting them summarize five stories of creative fairy tales. The results showed that the eye for grasping the whole story is formed by the works of 'story structure map'. Also, we discovered summarizing is proceeded within the factors of story structures by understanding the plot summarizing structure. Finally after the education, children tended to catch the story structures as a background knowledge by changing the attitude towards a story.
