노령 지체장애인의 장애수용에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

A study on factors influencing acceptance of disability of physically disabled elders : in comparison with disabled middle aged individuals

본 연구는 노령지체장애인의 장애수용 증진방안을 모색하기 위하여 중년기와 노년기 지체장애인의 비교연구를 통하여 노령 지체장애인의 장애수용 정도를 파악하며, 장애수용 영향요인을 밝히기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 자료수집은 2006년 7월 24일부터 8월 29일까지 예비조사, 본 조사를 포함하여 총 6주에 걸쳐 40세에서 60세 이상의 지체장애인 375명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 자료분석 방법은 기술통계, 일원분산분석, 위계적 다중회귀 분석 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과 중년기 지체장애인의 경우 '자아존중감(β=.341)', '전문가 지지(β=.244)'가 장애수용에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 노년기 지체장애인의 경우 '수단적일상생활수행능력(IADL)(β=.380)', '자아존중감(β=.224)', '전문가 지지(β=.195)', 신체적 증상(β=-.149)의 순으로 나타났다. 자아존중감, 전문가 지지의 경우 중년기와 노년기 지체장애인의 경우 공통적으로 장애수용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 노년기 지체장애인의 경우 수단적일상생활수행능력(IADL), 신체적 증상이 장애수용에 영향을 미치는 요인임을 관찰할 수 있었다. 연구결과에 기초하여 노령 지체장애인의 장애수용 증진을 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 노령 지체장애인의 장애수용 증진을 위한 다양한 전략모색에 기여하게 될 것이다.

The objective of this study is to analyze the influencing acceptance of disability of Physically Disabled Elders. The data was collected through the one to one interview of the 375 people with physical disabilities in forties to seventies from 24th, July. 2006 to 29th, August, 2006. The data was analyzed with the descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA. and Hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS 12.0. In this study, the factors influencing acceptance of disability was divided into four dimension : sociodomographic condition, physical condition, self-esteem and social support(family, friends, significant other). The major finding of this study were as follows: First, the factors influencing acceptance of disability of the physically disabled with middle aged are self-esteem(β=.341), significant other support(β=.234). Second, the factors influencing acceptance of disability of the physically disabled elders are instrumental activity daily living(IADL) (β=.380), self-esteem (β=.224). significant other support(β=.195). physical symptoms(β=-.149). On the basis of the results, some suggestions on the practice of the social work were presented. This study presented the factors influencing the physically disabled elders' acceptance of disability. and, afterwards. it will contribute to the exploration of the strategies for improving the aged people with physical disabilities' acceptance of disability
