This paper is to investigate the differences between the opening characteristics and the consideration determinants of a new food service business. The survey sample had been collected from main cities(Wonju, Chuncheon, Gangneung) of Gangwon province, including trainees in the food service opening course in Women's Cultural Centers in the cities, and the employees have interested in opening a food service business. The analysis has tested by T-test and one-way ANOVA followd by Scheff's post hoc analysis. In the result of the analysis, there were partially differences between the opening characteristics and the consideration determinants of a new food service business. Thus, marketing was a significant opening characteristic factor for restaurant type and restaurant open cost. On the other hand, restaurant open motivation was no differences from the consideration determinants of a new food service business.
