The Effect of Uncertainty in the Publicness on Charitable Contributions

자선기부에 대한 공공성의 불확실성 효과

본 논문은 재화의 공공성(publicness) 정도가 불확실한 경우에 비순수공공재 모형을 통하여 최적 기부에 대한 공공성의 변화의 비교정태분석을 하고 있다. 또한 본 논문은 위험회피의 증가에 따른 개인의 자선기부의 효과를 검토하고 있다. 본 논문의 분석결과를 보면, 소비가 정상재인 경우에 위험 증가의 비교정태효과가 (내성적) 절대위험기피 칙도의 크기와 단조성으로 표시될 수 있다.

This paper develops comparative statics of the optimal charitable contribution to an impure public good, assuming uncertainty about the extent to which the good is private or public. This paper also examines the effect of an increase in risk aversion on an individual's own charitable contribution. We show that the comparative statics effects of changes in distribution function on an individual's own charitable contributions can be expressed in terms of the magnitude or monotonicity of the (endogenous) absolute risk aversion index given the normality of consumption.
