최한기의 경험주의 진리관과 교육관

Choe Han-gi's View on the Truth and the Education of Experimentalism

본 논문의 목적은 최한기의 경험주의 진리관과 교육관을 고찰하는 것이다. 최한기의 진리관은 경험주의에 기원하고 있다. 경험주의는 인간의 마음속에 내재하는 본유관념(本有觀念)을 부정하고 경험할 수 없는 관념적 대상이나 초경험적 실재를 인정하지 않는다. 이러한 측면에서 최한기의 사상은 경험주의이다. 이러한 그의 경험주의 진리관은 그의 교육관의 이론적 토대가 된다. 최한기는 모든 인간은 평등하게 태어났다는 전제를 가지고 있다. 모든 인간에게 신기가 부여되어 있어 평등하게 태어났다는 논리는 그의 경험주의 진리관의 근거가 된다. 이것은 선행후지(先行後知)의 경험주의 인식으로 인하여 모든 인간은 교육을 통하여 변화시킬 수 있다는 논리를 가능하게 해 준다. 결국 최한기의 교육관은 역시 경험주의 에 근거한 교육관을 제시하고 있다. 최한기의 경험주의 진리관과 교육관은 조선 후기 교육사상에서 매우 획기적인 의미를 지닌다. 먼저, 경험주의적 관점으로 교육의 목적을 추구하였다는 점이다. 둘째, 평등사상과 신학문을 수용하였다는 점이다. 셋째, 학습자의 개인차를 인정하고 다양한 교육방법과 과학적인 교육방법을 강조하였다는 점이다.

The purpose of this paper is to study Choe Han-gi's experimentalism view on the truth and the education. Choe Han-gi's view on the truth was originated from an experimentalism. The experimentalism deny the innate ideas in human mind and also dose not recognize the ideal things and super-experimental reality. This, Choe Han-gi's thoughts is experimentalism. Choe Han-gi's view on the truth is the theoretical basis of his view on the education. He had the assumptions that human was born equally. The logic that all human innate in Sin-gi is the theoretical basis of his experimentalism view on the truth. This make the logic possible that all human could be changed by the education of experimental recognition in which knowing follows doing. In conclusion, Choe Han-gi's view of education is based on the experimentalism. Choe Han-gi's experimentalism view on the truth and the education has very important meanings in the education thought of later cho-sun. First, he pursued the aims of education by the experimentalism. Second, he received the thoughts of equality and new science. Third, he emphasized the various and scientific educational methods with the recognizing the individual difference of learner.
