코메니우스 유아교육론의 현대적 의의

Comenius' Viewpoint in Early Childhood Education and the Modern Value

코메니우스에 의한 교육의 목적은 교육을 통해 인간 본연의 모습을 되찾고 미래의 영원한 행복도 갖도록 준비하는 것이라고 하였다. 인간의 본래 모습을 회복하며, 영원한 행복을 갖도록 한다는 것은 미래지향적인 교육사상을 나타낸다. 교육의 내용면에서는 기초지식과 기본적인 덕성, 그리고 신앙을 강조하였으며 언어와 문학을 중시하는 인문주의적인 교육을 배격하고 자연과학적 지식을 존중하였다. 교육내용은 지식의 체계화를 위한 지식교육과 덕성형성을 위한 도덕교육, 그리고 영성수련을 위한 신앙교육으로 크게 나눌 수 있다. 교수의 방법에 있어서는 초자연적, 신비적인 종교적 관념과 과학적, 경험적인 실재론을 결합하여 자연의 질서에 따른 합자연의 원리를 교육방법에 적용하였다. 그의 유아교육관에 의한 요지는 유아의 자발적인 활동을 강조하였으며 실물교육과, 놀이를 통한 교육, 그리고 유아와 구체적인 사물과의 상호작용을 통한 실물교육을 강조하였다.

The purpose of this study is to review and investigate the J.A. Comenius' viewpoint of early childhood education which relates to develop eternal happiness of future and to reinforce an image of human-being through the education. The above paragraph implicated the educational idea or thought in the future to develop eternal happiness and to reinforce an image of human-being. Conclusions are : Firstly, J.A. Comenius emphasized a basic knowledge, fundamental morality and faith which criticized the linguistics and the literature, but dealt scientific knowledge importantly. His educational content was to divide a moral education by the knowledge-education and moral-achievement and a religious education of training in faith. Secondly, teaching method applied supernatural, mysterious, religious thought and experimental application by natural principle with natural order. Thirdly, his major viewpoint of early childhood education has emphasized children's self-activity, audio-visual education, play-education, and interaction of children with concrete operation in various things.
