Systems Thinking on the Innovation of the University Education: Focusing on the Learning Process.

시대가 변화함에 따라 대학구조도 변화되어야 한다. 지식전달에서 지식창출 패러다임에 부응하는 방향으로 대학교육시스템이 변화하여야 한다. 본 연구는 지식창출을 지원할 수 있도록 대학교육시스템이 어떻게 변화해야 되는지를 탐색하고, 혁신방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 본 연구는 첫째, 대학교육시스템이 진정으로 지식창출을 지원하기 위해서 어떻게 교수학습체제가 혁신되어야 할 것인가에 대한 근본적인 숙고(radical rethinking)를 강조한다는 점에서 본 연구자가 신조한 “학습 프로세스 리엔지니어링(learning process reengineering, 이하 LPR)”이라는 개념과 그 속에 내재되어 있는 여덟가지 핵심 아이디어를 제시하였다. 둘째, 이러한 개념 및 원리에 입각하여 어떻게 대학교육시스템을 현장에 활용할 수 있는 대략적인 운영원리를 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 대학교육혁신이 이루어지기 위해서 대학당국에서 고려해야 사항을 제시하였다.

Existing university educational systems put more emphasis on the amount of knowledge students learn rather than on applications for problem solving or the creation of new knowledge. Of course the student's gains from low level learning encompassing memorization, discrimination, and imitation could also valuable resources to help students solve authentic problem, but this ia a secondary matter. Much more important is for student and professors to actively process the performance and learning that experts perform in practice(e.g., problem solving activities). In a new paradigm of education, knowledge creation plays an important role. Thus, in order to address the emerging new global society, our university educational system, in particular, needs to be redesigned, more appropriate to the new paradigm. The purpose of the paper was, first, to present 8 key ideas in the term of learning process reengineering coined by the author. second, the author suggested operational principles for the workable application to the university education practice. finally, the researcher suggested ideas necessary for the university policies in order to implement the new educational system. For the research methods, the study mainly utilized the literature review and case analysis. As further research area, implementation study based upon 8 core ideas for the university innovation would be necessary.
