본고는 현경준의 대표작이라 할 수 있는 <유맹>을, 이를 개작한 <마음의 금선> 및 ≪도라오는 인생≫과 비교 분석함으로써 국책문학으로도 저항문학으로도 평가받을 수 있었던 <유맹>의 다의성을 밝히고자 하였다. 현경준의 <유맹>은 만주국 수립으로 인한 정책의 변화 및 중독자 갱생을 통한 국민 만들기를 보여주는데 초점이 맞춰져있기보다는 1930년대의 전망 상실과 주체 몰락의 내면 풍경을 보여주는데 더 주력하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 과거의 꿈을 회상함으로써 소멸의 길을 걸을 것인가, 아니면 거기서 빠져나와 생성에의 길로 나설 것인가 하는 양가적 욕망의 갈등을 대화적 형식으로 전개하고 있는 소설이 바로 <유맹>이다.
This paper aims to disclose equivocality of <YuMaeng>, which was able to be evaluated as literature for publicizing the national policy and resistance literature, by comparing <YuMaeng>, which can be said to be a Hyeon Gyeong-jun's typical piece of work, with its adapted pieces of work <Mental String> and ≪Returning life≫ and by analyzing those pieces of work. It can be said that Hyeon Gyeong-jun's <YuMaeng> focuses on showing internal shapes in relation of a lost prospect and the ruined subject in 1930s rather than on educating the nation through changes of the policy and revival of addicts owing to foundation of the state of Manju. <YuMaeng> is the very novel that represents, in a conversational type, discord of a selective desire, that is, as to whether to go toward the road to collapse or, after escaping from there, the road to revival.
