서구인들의 문화적 정신적 맥락에서 발생하는 병통 현상과 그것을 치유하는 철학상담 혹은 로고테라피의 방법은 서구의 문화적 맥락의 소산이다. 그런데 과연 그것과는 다른 맥락에 속하는 한국인에게도 그것을 그대로 적용할 수 있을까? 본 연구는 그 타당성을 따지기 위한 조건의 모색을 위하여 한국인에게 친숙한 心病의 개념과 治心의 방법을 고찰한 것이다. 본 연구는 한국인의 마음 경험의 성립과정에 깊숙하게 개입했다고 보이는 선진시대부터 송대까지의 유교, 도가, 불가 등의 서적에서 心病과 관련된 공통된 경험과 그것이 개념화되었던 역사와 그 의미를 고찰한다. 고찰의 순서는 첫째 춘추시대 중국인의 마음 경험의 원형, 둘째 春秋戰國시대의 마음 경험의 반성과 변화로서 儒家의 마음 경험과 마음 원리 그리고 道家의 마음 경험과 마음 원리를 살핀다. 셋째 심병의 용례와 의미에 관하여 유교 도가 및 불교를 비교하여 논하도록 한다.
Western people`s understanding of diseases of mind which have been growing on the context of their culture or spirit and Philosophical consultation or logotheraphy aiming at healing them are outgrowth of their context. But is it possible to apply them to Korean people who belong to another context of culture or spirit? In order to grope a basis for querying the appropriateness of them, the concept of diseases of the mind and methods of healing the mind which are familiar to Korean people are surveyed in this paper. Many kinds of experience relating to the diseases of the mind and the history of conceptualization of them in the books from the Pre-Chinera to Sung China era, which seem to have taken part so long time and so deeply in making Korean people`s experience of their mind. The main items of this paper will be proto-type of Chinese people`s experiences of the mind in Chunqin time, Experiences and principles of the mind of Confucianism and Taoism, and meaning and illustrations of diseases of the mind mainly on the context of the Confucianism.
