There is no doubt that serial murder, though happening rarely, brings about tremendous fears in community and puts great pressures on investigative agency, demanding a lot of resource available The main target of serial murder encompasses generally a specific group, including the elder in isolated homes, prostitutes, the young female residents and a permissive free rider It seems that the serial murder oriented for homosexuals, psychotics, the patients of foreigners has not yet appeared, which does not mean the way of being in the future Accordingly to a great deal of advancements of scientific investigation under the atmosphere of human right oriented policies, many criminals also have learned the very elaborate skills and methods in order to perpetrate a crime without being arrested by way of Internet media etc To put briefly the findings of this study concerning to the most typical serial murders of 23 samples happened since the 1970's in Korea, It has increased just from the 2000's seemingly having resulted from both social pathology and individual traits combined, and been mostly performed by murderers in their twenties of thirties Most of the murderers has committed without accomplices against strangers and have continued up to 8times on a statistical basis before being arrested In particular, there have several prominent psychopath serial murderers This study might be criticized in perspective of its limitations which is lacking qualitative analysis of the mean interval between each event as well as gradually shortening terms and ending in failure with victims alive, following, if any, the degree of changes in MO and which needs for further investigation of the environments surrounding the demised
