A Dynamics in a Second Grade English Classroom

Focusing on the classroom as the arena where language learning occurs, this study investigated classroom interaction occurring during an English class at a typical American elementary school The major premise of the study is that the teacher is the on who is in the center of shaping the patterns of interaction with the students Using the data collected by microethnographical methods, this study looks at how teachers' role is salient in constructing a certain type of power construction, controlling students' participation by allocating turns for the students, and taking advantage of students' resources such as prior knowledge I conclude this paper with deduction based on the findings of this study
