朱子倫理學의 現實的 實踐方案

본 논문은 주자의 윤리적 교설에 현대 사회에서 실천 가능한 윤리적 교설인가 하는 점에 관한 논의를 담고 있다. 근래에 혁신적으로 발달하고 있는 과학기술은 존재와 삶의 근본적 가정에 대한 변화를 요구하고 있고, 이에 따라 기존의 윤리적 사고와 실천의 기준 역시 근본적으로 재고되어야 하는 상황이 되었다. 이러한 변화에 상응하는 현대 윤리학의 실천적 논의를 다음 세 가지 주제로 나누어 살피고, 그러한 논의에 주자학의 윤리적 교설이 어떠한 실천적 태도를 지닐 수 있을 것인가 하는 점을 본 논문에서 논의하였다. 첫째는 세계화의 현상과 윤리, 둘째는 가상공간의 윤리, 셋째는 자연과 윤리이다. 첫째 세계화의 현상과 윤리에서는 국가를 최대 범위로 삼았던 기존의 윤리관을 넘어서서 세계의 인류 전체가 국경을 넘어서 공동의 윤리적 연대를 취하여야 한다는 점, 그리고 이에 대하여 주자학적 교설 가운데 親親의 인륜적 사고를 세계화에 적용할 수 있는 가능성 여부를 따져 보았다. 둘째는 가상공간의 윤리에서는 주자학의 인간존중의 윤리를 현대사회의 요청에 맞도록 세밀하게 다듬어 가야 한다는 점을 논하였다. 셋째는 인간중심주의를 버리고 사람이라는 종과 동물이라는 종 사이의 차별을 넘어서는 현대 윤리학의 지향에 걸 맞는 주자학의 윤리를 조선조 인성물성논쟁의 주제로부터 찾아보는 시도를 하였다. 결론적으로 주자 윤리학의 실천적 방안의 성취 가능성에 대한 전망을 높여주는 현대의 학문적 논의들로서 F. Varela의 Ethical Know-how, Ken Wilber의 홀라키 이론, 테야르 드 샤르댕의 인간현상에 담긴 진화적 관점 등을 거론하였다.

This paper is a study on a reinterpretation of Zhuxi`s ethical teaching. The most important question is whether Zhuxi`s ethical teaching will be able to be available from now on or not. Recently innovative development of science and technology require to change the established assumptions of our existence and lives, therefore many established ethical standards must be reconsidered. On the correspondence to the great change, three topics of contemporary ethical arguments are researched and Zhuxi`s ethical teachings are reconsidered as a new contemporary ethics. The first topic is Ethics of Globalization insisted by Peter Singer. The second is Ethics of cyber space. The last is ethics respecting Nature. The first topic suggests that contemporary ethical things not are limited in the boundary of every country but should be expanded out and related to the all global citizens, and therefore we must construct a global ethical solidarity. Corresponding to this suggestion, Zhuxi`s teaching on the ground of traditional confucian dogma, for example practice of Ren(仁) that is oppositive to the Mozi`s philanthropy, is inquired. Related to the scond topic Zhuxi`s teaching on respecting human beings must be applied to the cyber space and its ethics. On the third topic, a new ethical thinking that human-centrism must be changed to a principle of equality between human beings and animals suggested. Korean traditional confucian debate topic on natures of human beings and animals is discussed. To raise the practical utility of Zhuxi`s ethical teaching on this contemporary globe, three contemporary and new paradigm are considered. They are F. Varela`s thinking of Ethical Know-how, Ken Wilber`s theory of Holarchy, and P.T. de Chardin`s thinking of Evolution in his book, Human Phenomena.
