낱말무리 가르치는 길 견주어 보기

이 글은 ‘우리말을 가르치는 길잡이 2007’을 ‘2007 개정 국어과 교육과정’과 견주어 봄으로써 더 탄탄하게 만들고자 하는 일 가운데 낱말무리(어휘)와 아랑곳한 내용을 더 알차게 만드는 데 뜻을 두고 쓴 글이다. 먼저 낱말무리(어휘)와 가르치는 길(교육과정)의 뜻매김을 하였다. 그것을 바탕으로 2007년 개정 국어과 교육과정에서 낱말무리 가르치기와 아랑곳한 내용들을, 우리말을 가르치는 길잡이 2007에서는 ‘낱말’과 아랑곳한 내용들을 뽑아 분석하고, 견주어 보았다. 그 결과 지식 관련 내용 요소가 많고, 지식 활용과 태도 관련 내용 요소가 적다는 공통점이 있었다. 흉내 내는 말, 비슷한 말, 맞섬 말, 속담, 사전 찾기, 표준말, 어종 같은 내용은 지도 학년까지 같았고, 의미 관계, 낱말 만들기 같은 내용은 지도학년이 달랐다. 높임법 관련 지도 내용이 2007년 개정 교육과정에는 있는데 우리말을 가르치는 길잡이 2007에는 없었다. 그 반대로 ‘낱말 늘리기’ 관련 내용은 우리말을 가르치는 길잡이 2007에만 있었다. 위와 같이 같은 점과 다른 점을 바탕으로 빠진 내용들을 채우는 일과 더불어 우리말을 가르치는 길잡이 2007이 더 탄탄해지려면 낱말무리 가르치는 방향을 단단히 잡은 다음 낱말무리와 아랑곳한 지식뿐만 아니라 낱말무리 부리기, 낱말무리 배우기, 낱말무리 관련 태도 등 낱말무리 가르치기 관련 내용 요소들이 빠짐없이 들어가도록 해야 할 것이다. 그것을 바탕으로 해서 만들어질 교과서와 지도서에는 낱말무리를 잘 가르치는 방법과 낱말무리 부리는 힘을 평가하는 방법 등에 대한 꼼꼼한 길잡이가 더해질 때 학생들의 국어능력은 더욱 나아질 수 있을 것이다.

This article was written to help the concerned devise the detailed contents of vocabularies in the Korean language, which is one of the strong measures for 'A Guide to Teach the Korean Language' through comparing with 'the 2007 Revised Korean Curriculum'. At first, this writer distinguished the concepts about vocabulary and curriculum. Being based on these elements, this writer organized the contents related to vocabulary education in the 2007 Revised Korean Curriculum, and analyzed the contents related to words in 'A Guide to Teach the Korean Language', then compared together. As a result, there was commonness between the curriculum and the guide, They had more contents related to knowledge, while less contents related to usage of knowledge and an attitude on vocabularies. There was commonness on mimicking words, synonyms, antonyms, the proverb, consulting a dictionary, a standardized words, and a language species in a guiding grade, and difference on relations of meaning and ways of forming words. The 2007 Revised Korean Curriculum contained the contents related to honorific words, while 'A Guide to Teach the Korean Language' didn't. The contents related to 'Extending words' were included only in 'A Guide to Teach the Korean Language' On the basis of commonness and difference in both sides, the direction of vocabulary education should be determined, and then the contents related to vocabulary education - including vocabulary usage, ways to learn vocabularies, and an attitude related to vocabularies - should be considered, so 'A Guide to teach the Korean Language' can be enhanced in terms of the vocabulary contents. In addition, it is necessary to complement the missing contents related to vocabulary education. Considering the above explanations related to vocabulary education, the Korean textbook and the manual textbook should be devised. In addition to this, when we have to add 'ways to guide vocabularies effectively' and 'ways to evaluate abilities on vocabularies', students' capabilities on the Korean language may be more improved.
