This paper argues that several women poets in the romantic period tried to have their voices heard in the male-dominating literary domain With their unique sensibility, they contributes to change the literary taste Although they were widely read in their own time, their voices were oppressed through the middle and latter half of the 19th century Therefore, it will be fruitful if "the missing links" of the literary history could be restored The prominent feature of the women poets such as Mary Robinson, Anna Barbauld, Hanna More, Anna Seward, Sharlotte Smith, Helen Maria Williams is the extreme cult of sensibility through the common everyday details and the colloquial tone Sometimes they fell into the deeps of despair, but they never lost the belief that their works might be converged into the mainstream of literary culture Now they declare that they are "the unacknowledged legislators of the world"
