Formative assessment study for student-centered learning

This paper sought to investigate if assessments can facilitate student-centered learning Specifically, the study examines how formative assessments can be used to improve the students' self-oriented language learning For the data collection, the study employed 108 university students and used pre-post diagnostic grammar test, eight formative assessments and student questionnaire Through the analysis, the study has found that formative assessment procedures brought a positive washback on the students' English grammar knowledge Additionally, the students reported the sense of accomplishment about the task completion at the end of the assessment procedures
