18世紀韓國代表实學者李瀷的心說

此文的目的在于阐明一直以來生活儒敎的世界觀和思想意识下的星湖李瀷在接触西方宗敎和科學思想后是如何实現兩种不同的世界問題意识間的融合的. 筆自曾在 《星湖李瀷吸收西學的經學基 础》一文中分析了星湖的 `格物致知` 說, 幷指出他將 `格物` 与 `致知` 分开而言的思想, 他用格物來解釋对現象世界的經驗性, 科學性认识, 用致知來解釋人是如何來應对被认识的經驗世界这一实践性的认识問題. 从星湖对格物致知的新诠釋中可以得知, 他试图將在客觀的事实认识方面比东方优先的西方經驗的科學思想与在內在价値方面优先的东方儒學思想實現統合, 卽东西思想的融合. 筆者在文中阐明了星湖的这种問題意识在他的心說中己有體現. 星湖认爲, 人心直有能够认识客觀世界的能力和依据內在原理來選择与存在原理相一致的生活的道德能力. 換言之, 人心同時直有科學的认识能力和道德的认识能力. 心的这种兩面性不仅能够提供东西世界觀融合的基础, 而且也能够成爲人同時理解宇宙自然的內面和外面的心性论基础.

The purpose of this study is clarify how Seongho Yi Ik fuses the mutually different world views and the mutually different critical minds between East and West Seongho Yi Ik who had lived by having been locked in the Confucian world view and the Confucian critical mind based on the Confucian Classics had faced the Western religion and scientific thought He had tried to understand the thought of East and West Through a thesis titled `Yi Ik`s Kyong Study`s (經學的) Backgrounds for his Acceptance of Western Learning`, the writer clarified that Seongho separated` extension of knowledge(致知)` and `investigating on thing(格物致知說) In Seongho`s theory on extension of knowledge by investigation on things`. `investigation on things` means the investigation about objective-external facts, on the other hands `extension of knowledge` means recognizing about subjective-internal practical value In the midst of Seongho`s new interpretation on The theory on extension of knowledge by investigating on things(格物致知說)` the critical mind of the fusion in the East-and-West thoughts can be read, which strives to integrate the empirically scientific thought in the West, which goes ahead of the East in the aspect of the objective fact awareness, and the more deeper Confucian thought in the aspect of the inside-oriented value awareness. Through this study, the writer aims to clarify that Seongho`s this critical mind is already prepared in the midst of his `theory of Mind-Heart(心說)` Seongho says that a human being`s mind is what possesses simultaneously the ability, which can recognize on the objective fact world, and the moral ability, which can point to the life consistent with the origin of existence according to the inner principle. It means that a human being`s mind has together the ability available for scientific awareness, and the ability avaliable for moral awareness. The ability of pointing to both sides, which the mind possesses, becomes not only the foundation that can integrate the Western world view and the East Asia`s world view, but also the foundation of mentality that allows a human being to be able to understand together the inside and the outside of universal nature.
