사회적 지지와 장애인의 삶의 만족도 관계 분석

Social Support and Life Satisfaction of People with Disabilities : The Mediating Effect of Acceptance of Disability

본 연구는 사회적 지지와 장애인의 삶의 만족도 관계에서 장애수용의 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 지금까지 사회적 지지가 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 점은 여러 차례 지적되어 왔지만 사회적 지지가 어떤 요인과 관련하여 어떤 방식으로 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는지에 대한 세분화된 분석은 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구는 사회적 지지의 주효과모델과 장애역설이론을 토대로 사회적 지지가 장애수용과 같은 심리적 적응에 영향을 미치고 이를 통해 삶의 만족도가 높아지는지, 즉 장애수용의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 사회적 지지는 장애수용에 영향을 미치고 장애수용은 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 지지는 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았고, 매개변인인 장애수용을 통해 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것을 나타났다. 본 연구는 사회적 지지가 장애인의 삶의 만족도에영향을 미치는 경로 및 관련 요인을 밝힘으로써 사회적 지지와 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 대한 이해를 높인다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 마지막으로 분석결과를 토대로 연구의 함의를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relations between social support, acceptance of disability, life satisfaction of people with disabilities and to examine acceptance of disability mediates between social support and life satisfaction of people with disabilities. A survey research was conducted for a sample of 335 adults with disabilities. The data was analyzed using AMOS 7.0 program utilizing maximum likelihood method. The results showed that the social support affected acceptance of disability. Also acceptance of disability affected life satisfaction of people with disabilities. Social support gave no direct effect to life satisfaction of people with disabilities. Here acceptance of disability mediated between social support and life satisfaction of people with disabilities. On the basis of these results, this paper provided discussions on acceptance of disability and life satisfaction of people with disabilities.
