장애인의 자원봉사활동 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인

Factors Affecting Volunteer Participation among People with Disabilities

본 연구의 목적은 장애인의 자원봉사활동 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 한국복지패널조사 1차년도(2006년) 자료를 이용하여 성인장애인 1,219명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구는 Wilson과 Musick(1997)이 제시한 자원봉사 통합이론을 기반으로 인적자원, 사회적 자원, 문화적 자원이 장애인의 자원봉사활동 참여에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 연구결과, 인적자원 중 교육수준, 사회적 자원 중 사회적 관계망, 문화적 자원 중 종교와 도움제공에 대한 태도, 그리고 통제변수로 포함된 성별이 장애인의 자원봉사활동 참여에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 역량강화 및 사회통합의 도구로서 장애인이 주체로 참가하는 자원봉사활동의 활성화를 위해 장애인의 인적자원, 사회적 자원, 문화적 자원의 증진을 위한 지원이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

This study analyzed factors affecting volunteer participation among people with disabilities to identify effective interventions to increase volunteer participation among people with disabilities. Data were obtained from 1,219 people with disabilities from the first wave(2006) of Korea Welfare Panel Study. Logistic regression analyses results show that gender, education, social network, religion, and attitude toward helping others were associated with volunteer participation of people with disabilities. Implications of the findings for practice and research are discussed.
