Phenomenological Methodology and Existential Living in Rogers’ Counseling Theory

본 연구는 로저스 상담이론에 드러난 현상학과 존재방식의 성격을 규명하는 데 목적을 두었다.이를 위하여 세 가지의 연구 문제를 설정하였으며,각각 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.첫째,로저스와 후설이 현상학적 입장을 취한 이유는 무엇인가?그들은 인류와 학문의 위기가 실증주의와 그에 기반을 두고 있는 과학주의 때문이라고 진단하고 현상학적 접근을 이에 대한 해결책이라고 생각하였다.둘째,로저스의 존재론적 삶과 하이데거의 본래적인 존재양식 간에 어떤 공통점이 있는가? 로저스와 하이데거는 일상적인 삶에서 벗어난 진정한 자기의 회복을 인간의 본래적 존재방식으로 보았으며,이것을 현상학적인 방법을 이용하여 규명하고자 했다는 점에서 공통점이 있다.셋째,그렇다면 훗설과 하이데거의 현상학과 구별되는 로저스의 현상학 이론의 고유한 특성은 무엇인가? 그의 현상학적 방법은 내담자를 치료하는 과정에서 생긴 오랜 체험을 통하여 스스로 터득한 것이며,존재론적 삶은 보다 인간적인 사회와 세계를 만들고자 하는 그의 인간관과 세계관이 반영된 것이다.

The purpose of the study is to explore phenomenological methodology and existential living in Rogers’counseling theory.The research questions and those answers from the findings areas follows First of all,what is the common in phenomenology of Rogers’and that of the Husserl.Both Rogers and Husserl sustained phenomenological perspective by criticizing positivism and scientism. Secondly,what is the common in existential living of Rogers and an authentic potentiality-for-Being of Heidegger? Both Rogers and Heidegger figured out the real self-restoration escaping from daily-routine as an authentic potentiality for-Being by phenomenological methodology. Lastly, what are the authentic characteristics of theory and thought of Rogers? Phenomenological methodology of Rogers is achieved by counseling clients in his whole life. His value system to make human esociety and world is reflected in existential living.
