A Study on Rules of Origin in Free Trade Agreement : Focused on Korea and USA

Most of the members of WTO have concluded more than 1 FTA; In Korea's case, Korea-Chile FTA and Korea-Singapore FTA are taking effect and the FTA between Korea and EFTA was officially contracted in December, 2005. Besides the negotiation of the FTA between Korea and the USA has been declared and in addition to this, we're negotiating with India, Japan, Canada, and so forth to contract other FTAs. It has been realized that it's time to make a comparative study of improvement of customs procedure as well as rules of origin, and so on which are advantageous to Korea to prepare for the spreading of future FTAs. Under this situation, this study focuses on comparing and analyzing FTAs' rules of origin and customs procedure between Korea and the USA.
