The purpose of this research is to investigate the general concepts of VMI(Vendor Managed Inventory) as a form of supply-chain management, and the relation with in the application of DDP(Delivered Duty Paid) terms, and to analyze the benefits, current situations and the futures of Vendor-Managed Inventory based on the global SCM(Supply Chain Management) strategic of an automotive-parts makers. VMI simply means the vendor(the Manufacturer) manages the inventory of the distributor, is spreading into more industries including computers and electronics including an automotive-parts makers. And VMI systems have been around for years in various industries both here in the United States and abroad, the benefits of that result from better information flow to both parties(the distributor and supplier), and increased sales are the most substantial benefits associated with VMI for distributors. For this reason, from now on DDP terms has become an increasingly popular trade terms for international supply chain customers.
