Today's Regional Studies of Literature is facing lots of difficulties. It gets worse especially under the stream of globalization. This study aims to look around the inward and outward solutions that Regional Studies of Literature have to find under the stream of globalization, At the inward point of view, Regional Studies of Literature has a task for building healthy Korean language ecosystem against English imperialism. Two things have to be done for this. First, we should discover and encourage the creation of regional language and literature which once excluded by national standard language principle. Second, to correct vertically ordered literature society under the modern nationalism, we have to deepen literatry institutionalism and establish literature studies of life-world that includes subgenre. At the outward point of view, Regional Studies of Literature has duties for developing Koreanology in such a way that we could equally communicate with international society so that Koreanology not to become a colony of foreign theories. Like inward way, two things also have to be done for this. First, we have to develop global thematics. Representative example is war and war literature. Second, we should correct methodology for comparative literature. For this, we need to make the history of translation about famous writer and canon and we also have to look around forgotten popular translation works. Interdisciplinary approaches and institutional aids are needed to get a solution for Regional Studies of Literature related problems. But at least, Regional Studies of Literature related community's steady and innovative research attitude is essential. We can say scholarship is imagination. Regional Studies of Literature should face the stream of globalization freely and seriously.
