Analysis on Trade Structure of Korea·EU and Implication of FTA

This paper firstly evaluated the factors which affects the failure of FTA negotiation between Korea and EU. Then analyzed index of trade complementarity and export similarity between two countries by using data of 20 major member countries during 1998-2007. And thus the paper could provide theoretical basis for trade creation effects between Korea and major member countries in EU. For the purpose, about 300,000 raw data are used for empirical analysis by structuring panel data. Finally the paper examines the macroeconomic effects of FTA on Korea by using report results done by distinguished economic institution. And thus the result may suggest very meaningful policy implication toward successful agreement of Korea･EU FTA.
